Computers & Copiers
Computers
The Amherst Town Library has sixteen computers for public use on the Main Floor and in the Children's Room.
Use is first come, first serve. If others are waiting, time is limited to 1 hour.
On the Main Floor...
Three stand-up terminals provide access to the ATL and other GMILCS library catalogs.
Eight work stations provide high speed internet access and the complete 2010 Microsoft Office Suite, including word processing, database management, spreadsheet, and presentation software.

In the Children's Room...
Two stand-up terminals provide easy access to the ATL Children's
Room catalog.
One station provides
children's software for enjoyment in the library.
One work station is set up to easily guide children to age appropriate
reseach databases with printing and emailing capability. No Internet
access.
3.5 inch floppy disks can be purchased for $1.00. CD's are available for $2.50.
Not sure how to use the computer?
The Reference Department offers individual computer instruction upon request.
Prefer using your own laptop?
The Amherst Town Library is a wireless “hot spot,” enabling users to access our high speed Internet connection with their own wireless-enabled laptop computers.
For people with disabilities...
Large sceen monitors are available at two our computer stations to assist blind and low-vision computer users.
Copiers
The library has one public copier located on the main floor.
Scanners
The library offers two self-service scanners on the main floor available on a walk-up basis. Scan documents and images to a USB memory drive, send to an email address, or to a library computer workstation for convient on-site editing. No cost.
